Have fun! Let a math concept inspire your creation but allow your work to go where your artistry takes you.

Consider how the math concept may connect to the real world. Can the math concept be a metaphor for something you've experienced?

Incorporate "art prompts" at the beginning of a task. For example, show them a piece by Wassily Kandinsky (artwork below). Have a class discussion on what they notice.

Give the students multiple mediums to choose from. More choice can lead to more engagement.

To increase the artistry, encourage students to experiment and be playful with how they explore the math concepts.

To increase the math, have students share math work that supports their art creation (example below).
